You find some wild stuff in old camera bags
Some boxes for expired film, including Kodak Kodacolor VR 100, expired in 1987, and Focal ISO 400, expired in 1990.

I really don’t understand how even if this is legal, people are okay parking their cars on the whole ass sidewalk. Is it just a Pittsburgh thing? The selfishness just blows my mind. #waroncars

If you want to argue that the process worked here, have at it. Put that in your column. But I think the record here shows that a rezone that led to thousands of new homes in Seattle was held up for a year for NO ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFIT.

Got the bug for film photography after the @victoriascott.bsky.social trans photo walk. Picked up a shitty 'disposable' camera and some extra film. Trying scanning (setup needs work lol) and darktable. Think I might need to get a slightly better film camera but I'm learning and it's a vibe.

Can anyone in the film/slide world recommend a good way to scan a ton of negatives and slides? I'm looking for a way to digitize a family photo collection and am unsure of where exactly to start, or if it's worth buying a scanner specifically for this.

So far I've really enjoyed @photoprism.app, but I've realized now that I screwed myself with the default "stack" options, and there doesn't seem to be a convenient way out of it. Such a shame, because this sort of kills what is otherwise a really good way to manage my photos.

You can tell that Seattle is a real city because they have big companies like Amazon, whose corporate headquarters is essentially an extension of the highway on-ramp
A view northbound on Terry Ave N with a line of cars and very sad people inside them, waiting to turn onto the street that will take them to the highway. They’re probably sad because they work at Amazon and have to go into the office and they have to drive otherwise they would have to take public transport and might have to see a poor person and that would be unacceptable.

shit keeps coming out reaffirming that i had this admin's rank transmisogyny clocked dead to rights from their early executive orders and that we'd be a lot better off if the national lgbtq orgs stopped covering it up instead of firing me about it
But according to a number of former Biden-administration officials, there remained a simmering debate inside the administration about whether those Title IX protections should extend to sports. On one side were Susan Rice, the director of the White House's Domestic Policy Council, and Catherine Lhamon, the Education Department's assistant secretary for civil rights; Lhamon had the same role during the Obama administration and was heavily involved in the original expansion of Title IX protections.

Rice and Lhamon maintained that there was no legal difference between letting trans students use bathrooms that align with their gender identity and letting trans student athletes play on sports teams that align with their gender identity.

On the other side were administration officials who believed that the competitive, zero-sum nature of sports made them different from bathrooms - that some transgender athletes would enjoy unfair physical advantages over women. Most important, one of the officials holding this view was Biden himself. "The president was particularly focused on the competition issue,” says one former Biden administration official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to publicly discuss the matter.
