Heading to the Graham Block Party today, thinking about how we're almost at the 10th anniversary of the death of Ronacin Tjhung at MLK and Graham. Are we any closer to creating an MLK that is safe to bike on? No, we are not. www.seattlebikeblog.com/2017/01/24/d...

Our community, our friends, family, and neighbors keep paying the cost of building a surface highway with light rail at grade on MLK instead of a safe street. There have been far too many meetings with no outcomes and plans sitting on shelves about this street. When will the city act?

When Lake Washington Boulevard is open to people it connects them to the communities in the Southend. Drivers have plenty of direct routes that get them to our communities, people on bikes currently lack even one!

We need the city and SDOT to take the dangerous driving on MLK seriously up to a full redesign of the street. The design of the street is a problem, and it undermines our local and regional transit investment.

This is sort of true, our existing bus system doesn't connect he last mile that well to the Genesee Park, but that's a failure that Seafair and Seattle could ask Metro to address rather than just throwing their hands up and "opening" a bus lane up for car traffic.
