The Pride Plaza is back and better than ever! Last year, we repaved the street and updated the curb ramps to be ADA compliant. This year, we painted the street, added furniture and planters, and made sure this is a welcoming space for all.

West Seattle: the Spokane St Swing Bridge (Low Bridge) is closed to drivers this weekend, 7 AM Saturday, September 26 to 4 AM Monday, September 28. We are replacing the eastern barrier gate. The bridge remains open for walking and cycling during this closure.

Ok metro/st kind of botched some of the rollout for the bus changes in August. For example, the 556’s route and map are wrong on transit/google/ST’s own website. You have to open and read an alert to figure out where the bus actually goes. And when you get to the in-service stop, this is the sign

National action alert: Tell Congress Duffy’s attacks on bike lanes will get people killed
Bluesky post by Bike League Policy Director Ken McLeod. Sean Duffy, the corrupt B-list reality TV personality cosplaying as Trump's Transportation Secretary, is trying to put language in the transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict bike lanes on the misleadingly-named "National Highway System." This system includes a lot of regular city streets (map), including streets like Eastlake Ave where a federally-funded project is currently building new protected bike lanes. The system also includes many of Seattle's most dangerous streets, such as Rainier Ave S, Aurora Ave N, Fauntleroy Way SW, 4th Ave S and many more, streets big enough that Federal funding might be needed to help cover the significant cost to repave and rebuild them.

SDOT shouos build the MLK bike lane as part of a corridor safety project. Slower speeds and fewer lanes will make accessing Link stations safer. It will also mean fewer cars hitting our many billions of dollars light rail and causing it shut down for hours at a time.

RISKS POSED BY VIOLENT FAR-LEFT TERRORISM

The 2026 U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy, identifies violent far-left terrorist groups as one of the three major terrorist threats facing the United States today. Building on the State Department's November 13, 2025 action targeting so-called antifascist groups ("Antifa") engaged in violent and criminal acts, Treasury is targeting Autistici/Inventati, Palestine Action, and Masar Badil, including two of its senior leaders, as part of a U.S. government-wide effort to protect Americans from the risks posed by far-left terrorism.

One thing about me is I will send a disappointed email if a product or service I use starts running ads for generative AI. I encourage everyone to do the same so that companies adopt the same recognition of social harm as with oil/gas, alcohol, gambling, firearms, etc.
Hi William,
Thanks for your email. At the moment, our podcast host allows us block certain industry segments (oil/gas, alcohol, gambling, firearms etc.).
At the moment, Al is not currently not listed as a separate category, but we will keep this under review.

Cars don't make the Market special at all. Every street has cars. Car streets are a dime a dozen. If there's any theater, mystery, or surprise on Pike Place, it's not from the metal boxes. It's probably the people outside of them.

The compromise measures that created bicycle weekends on LWB are clearly working and people like them, but they also create tension between users for no reason. The city should act to address that tension through permanent infrastructure changes.
