I think it's best for everyone to understand that the unified class project of billionaires right now is to do to white collar workers what globalization and neoliberalism did to blue collar workers.

Came across this question asked by parliamentarian P. R. Natarajan, member of CPIM, on the inclusion of unpaid labour of women in the economy in the Lok Sabha in Feb, 2023 while working on a research report:

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT
LOK SABHA
UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1797 TO BE ANSWERED ON 13.02.2023
UNPAID LABOUR FORCE
1797. SHRI NATARAJAN P.R.:
state:
Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to
(a)whether the unpaid work done by the women was not taken into account in National Statistics which contributes more to the economy than the manufacturing and transportation sectors; (b)if so, the action taken to identify such unpaid labour force available in various sectors and services across the country; and
(c)if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI RAMESWAR TELI)
(a) to (c): As per the definition of 'Workers' used National Sample Survey (NSS) 73rd round survey, a worker is understood a person working within the premises of the enterprise. This definition includes working owners, persons who are in the payroll of the enterprise, unpaid family members who help in the entrepreneurial activities and other helpers and apprentices.
Unpaid works done by women household workers who are associated with the activities of an enterprise have been considered as 'other workers' in the enterprise survey namely, 'Unincorporated Non-Agricultural Enterprises (Excluding Construction)' which was conducted by National Statistical Office (NSO) during July, 2015 June, 2016 (NSS 73rd round). -
The unpaid helpers who assist in the operation of an economic activity in the household farm or non-farm activities are also considered as workers and thus are included in labour force.

We got a message from the university to remove any use of the "DEI", "diversity", "equity", or "inclusion" from all public-facing documents. They said that even "biodiversity" is being flagged by the federal government. We live in the dumbest timeline.

Two trees in a gorge. The rock walls are covered with moss and lichen. One of the trees seems to be sliding off a boulder into the gorge. Dead leaves litter the path and rocks.

The donut dipped into the coffee shop, a glazed look in its eye. "What's the matter, Long John? You're looking very pasty for a pastry." "I've been feeling a bit empty inside lately, Duncan—unfulfilled, not quite hole," admiited Long John. "I may have lost a filling." #vss365 #vssdaily #donut

Daily bunny no.2856 examines things from all angles

A bunny stands next to an owl on a tree branch of a dead tree. The owl is turning his head full 90 degrees clockwise, and the bunny is doing the same. Both are standing in front of a full moon at night.

Another terrible news day, another moss with bonus tiny fungus. At this rate, I’d better get back out there with the camera

Photo is of a batch of green moss with a teeny, tiny white mushroom. There’s a finger in the photo for scale.

Had to clamber over a barbed wire fence, rip my coat and trespass to get a photo of this folkloric monster pretending half-successfully to be a tree. I have no regrets.
