Came across this question asked by parliamentarian P. R. Natarajan, member of CPIM, on the inclusion of unpaid labour of women in the economy in the Lok Sabha in Feb, 2023 while working on a research report:

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT
LOK SABHA
UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1797 TO BE ANSWERED ON 13.02.2023
UNPAID LABOUR FORCE
1797. SHRI NATARAJAN P.R.:
state:
Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to
(a)whether the unpaid work done by the women was not taken into account in National Statistics which contributes more to the economy than the manufacturing and transportation sectors; (b)if so, the action taken to identify such unpaid labour force available in various sectors and services across the country; and
(c)if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI RAMESWAR TELI)
(a) to (c): As per the definition of 'Workers' used National Sample Survey (NSS) 73rd round survey, a worker is understood a person working within the premises of the enterprise. This definition includes working owners, persons who are in the payroll of the enterprise, unpaid family members who help in the entrepreneurial activities and other helpers and apprentices.
Unpaid works done by women household workers who are associated with the activities of an enterprise have been considered as 'other workers' in the enterprise survey namely, 'Unincorporated Non-Agricultural Enterprises (Excluding Construction)' which was conducted by National Statistical Office (NSO) during July, 2015 June, 2016 (NSS 73rd round). -
The unpaid helpers who assist in the operation of an economic activity in the household farm or non-farm activities are also considered as workers and thus are included in labour force.

The more you read about the foundation of the States, the more all of its policies on international politics makes sense.
a textbook page showing lines of text about the emergence of puritanism as the hegemonic American Ideology:

Winthorp's utopian goal, of course, was supremely unconcemed with those who already lived in America. North America was a vast continent occupied for many. many thousands of years by (according to recent estimates) perhaps ten to twelve million native Americans north of Rio Grande. How could the Puritans make
lasting bridgehead among so numerous a people? Already, in 1616, English fishermen visiting New England had brought the European discase bacilli which, assuming epidemic proportions, had annihilated probably half of the Indians of New England, who had numbered 25,000.
"Their bones and skulls," an Englishman wrote
"made such a spectacle. it seemed to me a new found Golgotha."

Rather than regard this event as a tragic human disaster, the English in general looked

upon it as a proof of God's wishes: that the land be made empty for them. And then came a second devastation, smallpox, shortly after the Puritans' arrival, which in the carly 1630s killed thousands of more Indians. What had happened over the past century in Mexico, where a population of perhaps twenty-five million had shrunk to

less than one-twelfth that number, was occurring around the Puritans as well.
The weakened local Indians therefore made room for the Puritans in turn stated that since the land was not "occupied" or
"claimed," it could berightfully taken. Besides, the English said, they were a
"civilized" people and the Indians "inclose no land, neither have any settled habytation, nor any tame Cattle to improve the Land by ..... So the Puritans simply moved in and established their settlements. Later they made purchases of great tracts from the Indians, but only to establish a "legal" title to the land so that the Dutch of
fall
New Amsterdam (later New York City) could not.

The image shows the cover of a book titled "The Rise of the Robots" by Martin Ford. The cover features a large power button symbol in the center, and it's described as the "Business Book of the Year 2015" winner. There's a quote from the Sunday Times saying, "Alarming and, at times, surreal... it's time to be afraid, very afraid." The subtitle of the book is "Technology and the Threat of Mass Unemployment."
