On the other hand I think the wrongest of takes is the idea that McSweeney was incidental to the election victory that was all but guaranteed because of Tory collapse. He built a formidable election campaign- and was literally the only person you could find in 2020 who thought Labour could win.

It's the deadliest year for people in ICE custody in decades; next year could be worse
There have been at least 20 deaths in ICE custody in 2025, the deadliest year since 2004. As the agency is ramping up hiring and increasing detentions, concerns remain about how to stop the trend.

People who consistently ignore the Epstein files are suddenly very concerned about strict obedience to the law when it involves a man who shielded a woman who had just been pushed to the ground by an agent. Should we expect the same insistence on following the law when it comes to the Epstein files?

The sentiment that people are powerless is extremely corrosive. It’s partly a function of policy frameworks aimed at population level change. Statistical nudges can’t be seen unless connections are drawn together in good political narrative. But that’s hard to do in social media contexts.

Renee Good was still alive after ICE attempted to summarily execute her. They didn't render aid to the "f*king bitch" and blocked a doctor who was on scene from doing so. She bled out all by herself for 6 minutes when she might have been saved with *any* care. There is no punishment sufficient.

I mean, sure, if there was a war and they snuck up on some soldiers by adopting the trappings of civil aviation, you might call it a war crime. But since there wasn’t one and they snuck up on some civilians who were probably fishermen and at worst drug dealers, it’s just fuckin murder.
