Jesus Christ, I didn't think we'd actually get to the "public executions" stage of Trump's project to roll back the last 100 years of societal development.

For various reasons Trump is not actually a dictator but he behaves exactly as if he were one. There's always the stage where they can't accept any dissent so they bury themselves in toadies and propaganda and become genuinely detached from reality. It never ends well

I've just been reading Albert Speer's Inside the Third Reich for a thing and Trump definitely resembles late-stage Hitler: surrounded by sycophants, rejecting all criticism, denying facts about the war he's losing, making mad declarations, seeing enemies everywhere. Not great

Periodic reminder that this is a Peter Thiel groomed political operator who totally reinvented himself from a Trump deriding republican to the VP of the Trump regime. Look at the eloquence within which he burbles absolute shit now. It’s this kind of thing that makes me doubt the big conspiracy

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”

“Zionism is racism” is not a policy but a slogan. It compresses a complex history, going back millennia, and a very wide set of beliefs into one narrow meaning. The answer to genocide is not discrimination. We don't fight racism with racism. I’m gutted to see this motion adopted by the Green Party.

Can you imagine the derisory coverage and outright mockery if any other party with single-digit MPs decided to "declare a General Election" and go on a bus tour? Yet when this outlandish nonsense comes from Farage, it is treated as somehow brilliant. "Subscribe to continue..." No thanks. I'm good.

Terrible for justice. Terrible for the junior bar. The lay magistracy shouldn’t be allowed to do anything more complicated or weighty than a parking violation. And it won’t help. Summary trials in Essex for example listed into late next year already.

People should differentiate "I don't like" and "this is bad". "I don't like jazz" is personal subjective, it does not mean it's bad, just that it is not to ones taste. "Political corruption is bad" is a statement of objective fact, it is a harm and net negative.
