I've been very slowly rewatching Deep Space Nine for months and I'm savoring the 6th season now, which I think is the show at its peak. Just had Far Beyond the Stars on and dammit, we didn't appreciate Avery Brooks as an actor and director enough. He did a remarkable job at both in this episode.

Today, I was looking for the status of an upcoming book on Amazon, and saw an ad on the main page for a children's science book, obviously A.I.-generated. The children are not real children. It's gross and feels perverted. The book itself seems to be A.I. slop, but has only 4 and 5 star reviews.

She's watching a steady stream of this daily. I tried to train her on recognizing A.I. slop and how to block videos and channels, but I keep catching her watching it anyway. It's making me sick to my stomach.

I haven't been able to convince her to stop watching A.I. slop, unfortunately. She said it's just entertainment. It's mostly gossip videos about celebrities, all of it A.I. slop, frequently interrupted by A.I. slop ads that make no sense, defy the laws of physics, and are often racist and sexist.

I have YouTube Premium and pay for ad-free streaming services, so I don't generally see ads. Imagine my shock when I discovered my 75-year-old mom's YouTube feed is full of A.I.-generated videos and ads. It's a nightmare. I am truly disturbed and upset to see what she's been subjected to.
