I really don’t think that’s the case. I do think that probably these people hate femininity, which they see as weakness. But that doesn’t mean that they are secretly gay or trans. And I think that it does damage to insist that they are. Maybe some are, but definitely not all.

Growing up, I don't know if I understood WHY Tim Curry and Dolly Parton resonated for me so much, but they both were very unapologetically themselves in a way that just...was. It wasn't a rejection of norms so much as an invitation to those of us who were struggling to let ourselves simply be.

Absolutely, when you're starting out, keep it to 120 pages. Sales like this are almost always exceptions. Tip: tighten up formatting. Get rid of widows and orphans (single words on a return line). Proof for repetitive bits. Give it your voice and heft, but it should still be efficient within that.
