Fun fact: @alandistro.bsky.social had the idea to use the JASON TAKES MANHATTAN poster as inspiration for MELON HEAD MAYHEM. I immediately loved the idea, and Marc Vuletich brought it beautifully to life with his illustration.

Happy release day to all involved! I had so much fun designing the cover wrap for this one! Everything is aged to look like an old police file/report. All logos and text elements were first designed from scratch, and then aged with various brushing and masking techniques.

Also, bonus points: I sent them my layered file for the cover art so they could design and build whatever their art team thought would work best for the audiobook. They kept my cover. They didn't change a single pixel. Given the size and budget of their art department vs me, that was a proud moment.

I just heard an early mix of the audiobook version of "A Fruiting Body" from @natcassidy.bsky.social's I KNOW A PLACE, as performed by four narrators (one of whom was Nat himself), and the audio performance elevated an already unsettling story to a chills-and-shivers level of creepy. 🍄
