This can't even really count as entertaining, insofar it's a story both about the scramble to loot Venezuela *and* a story about the willful destruction of the Kennedy Center, but the sheer venom between two terrible people *would* be entertaining otherwise. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/15/u...

A Bitter White House Feud, Even by Trump-Era Standards: Alina Mildon and Richard Grenell (Gift Article)

Alina Habba vs Richard Grenell Susie Wiles Katie Zacharia Kimberly Guilfoyle the chaos is spiralling; the wheels are coming off; knives are coming out; people are scrambling to grab what can be grabbed. That has some entertainment value, but it was also true of the worst months of Trump1, late '20.

The thing about being left of center in America is that our poor have *uniquely* low standards of living among developed nations but at the same time if you make median income or above you have a standard of living unmatched by any nation on earth.

“Combat boots, shaved heads and bomber jackets are coming back,” says Max Teske, a 34-year-old teacher at a secondary school in Brandenburg an der Havel, a town west of Berlin. Teske gained national attention in 2023 when he and a colleague wrote an open letter about conditions at their schools. He complained of being confronted daily with far-right symbols, slogans and song titles. School administrators and public authorities, he wrote, had erected a “wall of silence and lack of support.”

His coworkers branded him and his colleague as traitors. Strangers insulted them in the street. The police unit responsible for politically motivated crime advised them to vary their routes home and shop at a different supermarket to shake off potential attackers. Teske became persona non grata in his hometown. Eventually, he moved away.

If R voters actually flip, that's the ball game. Worse yet for the R party, this may not be a one of protest vote, but rather shaken faith, and that's more difficult to fix.

Tesla stock is up on expectation people will pay $250,000 "reservation" cost for a non-flying model.
Screenshot of a dark-themed Roadster reservation page showing three vehicle variants. At the top, “Performance” is labeled “Reserve,” with the description “Road ready with seating for two. Includes active aero and a multi-mode suction system.”

Under the heading “Augments,” the “Thrust” variant is selected, highlighted by a thin gold and white rectangular border and labeled “Limited” in gold text. Its description reads: “Race ready with seating for two. Includes Performance active aero and a multi-mode suction system, plus acceleration thrusters.”

Below, “Rocket” is labeled “Invite Only,” with the description “Air ready with seating for one. Includes Performance and Thrust, plus a full flight system.”

A notice explains that Thrust reservations are limited to one per customer, duplicate orders may be canceled, and availability depends on regional laws.

The payment section shows “Due Today” — “$5,000,” marked “Fully refundable,” and “Due within 10 days” — “$245,000.” Additional text states that reservations are not final until payment is received, unpaid reservations may be canceled after 10 days, and refunds for modifications will not be issued. The bottom of the screenshot shows partially cut-off reservation agreement and terms links.
