Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

It’s genuinely remarkable how complete the consensus around anti-Black racism as an unremarkable feature of public and political life has become.

One of the basic points in Mills' The Racial Contract (originally published in 1997!) was that, if nothing else, White Supremacy deserves to be taken seriously as one of the great motivating ideologies of modernity and it's bizarre that political philosophers are so disinclined to treat it as such.

Past 9/11 conspiracy theories at least had work and effort behind them, like Loose Change, which gave them some legitimacy, or early Alex Jones documentaries and early YouTube stuff. Now, in the social media era, 9/11 conspiracies are some of the dumbest theories I have ever seen

What makes 9/11 sucks is one, I miss my dad who swooped in magically got us out of the city on the subway when it was on lockdown after the attacks, and second, 25 years later, we as a society have learned absolutely nothing, in fact, things are more fragile and dangerous than before 9/11/2001

What Dolly taught us is that it is in fact possible to be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams of avarice but still be a fundamentally good person with a strong moral compass, and the only reason more rich people aren't like that is because they don't want to be.
