Yes, policy and leadership matter. Trump's policies, as greenlit by a Republican-led Congress, are the reason why your electricity & gas bills keep rising (while worsening the expensive & deadly climate crisis). Which means a change in policymakers can result in lower bills and a healthier climate.

What I hear most from those who live where large energy projects take place, including fossil fuel, petrochemical, & now data centers, is their fear that "permitting reform" is designed to cut them out of the democratic process, to speed past public input which for them is too often life or death.
