THANK YOU. Just killing me. 😭 Haunting me, you might say!

I get all the problems with Meta, but this banishment has been killing me professionally and socially, and so far, none of my efforts have gotten me back on. Eighteen years of social media existence right down the drain. 😑 Also, this jpeg has been online for at least 8 years. It's bonkers.

It took fifteen minutes between notification and banishment, and they say I can't appeal it. They insinuated I was posting incredibly vile, illegal material, which horrifies me just to imagine. There are, of course, no human mods making this decision. The haunted dolls in question:
An ebay listing for two haunted dolls who are always fighting. This got me permanently banned from all meta products

Yeah. YEAH. Me and some friends were planning a picnic with a haunted doll theme (why not?), and I shared a hilarious jpeg I saw on Bluesky, ironically enough. It was an ebay listing for 2 haunted dolls. Next thing I know, I'm receiving emails that my accounts are paused for review, then banned.

As a reminder, I got permanently banned from all Meta for posting a photo of haunted dolls in a private group message.

There will be a lot of equivocating about all the times search warrants have been executed on members of Congress for corruption investigations and the like, and it can't be stressed enough in how many ways HSI raiding Ilhan Omar is extremely not like that.

Honestly, this news has been an utterly chilling way to start the day, and I just don't know what it will take to wake up anyone still in denial at this point. I do not want to be a doomer! But the levels of lawlessness and audacity are truly breathtaking when I allow myself to think about it.

The daily "Dick Tracy" strip began on October 12, 1931. (Chester Gould’s strip had made its overall debut as a Sunday-only strip earlier in the same month and had appeared on October 4 and 11.) Here are the first four dailies:

The Great Comic Book Heroes (1965) by Jules Feiffer Growing up, this book and The Steranko History of Comics were considered the gold-standard of comic history books. Incredible that for YEARS some of reprints in this book were the only available scans/photos of the original comic pages.
Original dustcover to The Great Comic Book Heroes (1965) by Jules Feiffer shows Superman (from a comic panel drawn by Joe Shuster) leaping across the page.

Golden Age panel. Green background. Superman, holding a pistol in one hand, pulling a pan by his coat toward him. The guy's miltary hat falls off.
Superman says, "So you were going to shoot ME, eh? Just for that, I'm going to shoot YOU!
Man replies, "NO! NO! That would be MURDER!"

Sometimes my wife and I like to send each other text messages as though they’re democratic fundraising messages, and I believe she has produced the jewel of the form.
, it's
and I
have some personal news to share with you.
Being a mom is one of the greatest joys of my life, and I feel deeply that we should have salad tonight
This year has been challenging in many ways, and I have immense gratitude for the kindness and support of family, community, and people like you who have continued to stand by me through everything. It means the world, and I wanted you to be among the first to know that squash is in the oven and kale is in the fridge. As many of you are aware, ve been navigating one of the most challenging periods of my day while waiting for dinner.
Facing baseless federal hunger brought on by not eating since lunch, fighting for the working kids of this country, and now caring for a mean toddler and helping him grow up in a world that isn't always easy. But it has also reminded me exactly why I do this work and who I do it for.
I will never stop working to eat dinner. I will never stop fighting for what is right, even when there is also some feta in the fridge. And I will never stop being so very thankful that you are by my side in this important work and that there is tahini in the pantry for dressing
With love and gratitude,
stop to end
