There is truly no comparison between the blood on Yoo's hand and that of Pike's. Yoo has participated in far more brutal atrocities and it's not even close. The fact that he's on TV and she's been in a cage is not an accident of the US legal system — it's the point

This is foul. A reader reached out and told me the first google result when you search "kamloops unmarked graves discovery" is residential school denial. I did the search myself, and I found the same thing. The first non-sponsored result is the Fraser Institute's residential school denial.
Google search result for "kamloops unmarked graves discovery" has, as its first non-sponsored post, a publication from the Fraser Institute.

It reads: "No evidence of 'mass graves' or 'genocide' in residential ..."

"Feb 12, 2024 — ... Kamloops narrative are either false or highly exaggerated. No unmarked graves have been discovered at Kamloops or elsewhere-not one. As of ... Read more"Another screenshot shows the only result before the Fraser Institute result is a sponsored post from Angus Reid, affirming that the Fraser Institute result is the first non-sponsored one.Screenshot shows the intial response Google provides to the search "kamloops unmarked graves discovery"

All you can see on this first screenshot is the AI overview (barf) and the sponsored result from Angus Reid. However, as the other screenshots show, that Angus Reid result is followed by the first non-sponsored result: residential school denial from the Fraser Institute.

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a woman pushing a shopping cart into a grocery store. In the baby seat of the shopping cart is an unusual orange creature with a trunk and antennae. The security guard standing in the doorway says, “ma’am, you can’t bring that in here.” Panel 2: the woman turns around and gestures at the creature. She says, “come on… he’s not hurting anyone.” Panel 3: the security guard points matter-of-factly at a sign on the wall behind him. The sign reads in bold red letters, “NO SHNOOBS. The Academy has several rare dioramas. This is your last day to see them, I do not know what will happen to them after Wednesday
An adult and young diorama of two Okapi. They are large. Dark mammals with some striping. Initially thought to be a zebra relative, we now know it’s in the giraffe family. Two lowland gorillas. The larger one on a fallen log and gripping a tree branch. An older exhibit and was the only way many people learned about these animals before zoos acquired them and international travel became more common.Numenius borealis, Pinguinus impennis, and Camptorhynchus labradorius, extinct birds of northern North America and Eurasia all set up by a seaside cliff diorama.

ICE has abducted a college athlete. What are the NCAA and universities going to do about it?
Aminata Seck’s detention shows the bargain facing international college athletes: universities eagerly recruit them, but support can disappear when their immigration status becomes precarious.

Happy #FossilFriday! This is the last weekend you can see the Academy of Natural Sciences, at least in its current form, the form it has existed in for 150+ years! I highly recommend going if you are in or near the Philly area!
A fossil of Deinonychus antirrhopus, a theropod that’s just shy of 6 feet tall and about 10 feet long. It was, in fact, the inspiration behind the Velociraptor of Jurassic Park fame. The actual Velociraptor was notably smaller whereas this species was the near human sized, sickle-clawed predator most people think of when thinking of the Jurassic Park franchise. This skeleton is upright with its left foot kicking out, its tail serving as a counterweight for this action. This was originally part of the display where Deinonychus attacks a family of Tenontosaurus but the display has since been disassembled and the Deinonychus and Tenontosaurus have been since used as separate educational projects.
