Oh yeah and I found this photo at the same time from a few weeks ago. I made a degausser by wiring up a curled up extension cord and ran hot through hot + neutral (into a toaster oven) so the magnetic fields would combine instead of cancel out. It worked incredibly well; the entire cable vibrated

thanks! kinda hard to estimate since i've been completely exhausted, but it was a few days of modeling it in blender, one day of printing it, one day of soldering and crimping, and one day of rewriting the c program from my trackball for it. i knew exactly what i needed to do beforehand though

i put all the switches and knobs i had lying around into a box attached to my joystick. very nice for having controls in vr that you can reach with either hand, including a thumbstick mapped to the mouse and a button for recentering
