I spilled what I thought was a small amount of water on the desk my thinkpad was on (knocked over a glass when I got up in the middle of the night) and now one of the usb c ports is flaky and the thinkpad itself keeps doing weird things and crashing ):

new roommate uses a different subnet than me 😔 Not sure if I can be bothered to move all my devices over, however my basic-ass 192.168.1.1/24 made me insecure (I used to have a 10.0.0.1/8 before moving to the US) so maybe this a good opportunity to have a slightly cooler network topolgy

you know what ELSE is constraint solving? changing my legal name. so many edges NS name change -> Canadian passport -> visa (NY name change | Canadian passport) -> SSN -> License I used to be like "worst case I can change my name again" but god I hope not

constraint solving for moving is hell toothbrush is last so i can brush my teeth vacuum is last so i can clean Clothes act as padding so I have to leave them til the end too oh this box has too much heavy stuff, gotta only put light things in now (but not fragile! the heavy stuff will hurt them)

ok literally how are so many websites so bad at preferred names. things I have seen: - preferred name field does literally nothing - preferred name field is used in some places but not others, but in a completely arbitrary way - preferred name isn't used by support/humans talking to you

what I was hacking on today. Extremely tiny external monitor. sorry my camera sucks; my phone is very old still need to add touchscreen support. it would be cute oh and I found a bug in the gud kernel module while working on this, so I submitted a kernel patch for that today too
