Here's our shameless take on things you wouldn't do as an ally to blind and partially sighted people 👀 What else wouldn't you do?

"You wouldn't jump over a blind person's cane" in the famous font from the early 2000s anti-piracy campaign we all had to sit through at the beginning of any VHS tape, with an icon of a person using a white cane."You wouldn't forget to add alt text to your pictures" in the famous font from the early 2000s anti-piracy campaign we all had to sit through at the beginning of any VHS tape, with the alt text icon below.

College students’ increasing reliance on AI, John Paul Rollert argues, is teaching them a “knack for cutting corners, a disdain for community rules, and an assumption that a spirit of integrity, and the sacrifices it assumes, is the reserve of suckers and wimps”:

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

AI labs buy, scan, shred millions of rare books
If you have retreated to physical books because the internet is too full of AI slop, bad news — now they’re shredding the books to feed their AI slop machines.

📚 Why bypass a traditional publisher? At 16, Simone O. Elias chose the open-access route for her 2nd book, PORCELAIN RAGE: A MANIFESTO FOR THE GEN Z WOMAN, making it free & available to everyone through the Internet Archive. Learn more about Elias & the book: blog.archive.org/2026/07/27/s... 🧵

Accessibility and accessibility tools are complicated. Inspiration porn is reactionary propaganda, not our lived reality.  #accessibility #accessible #disabled #disability
An image with text, a group of people and a yellow background. The text says "just because one wheelchair user can access a space doesn't mean all wheelchair users will be able to and if not all of us can access it , its not truly accessible. There are drawings of 5 people. The first is a while person in a hat and glasses standing up on crutches next to their wheelchair. The next is a brown person with crutches sitting in a wheelchair. Next is a brown person with a pink motorized wheelchair looking directly at the viewer. The last is two white people, one in a wheelchair and the other pushing it.

HT Clare McNaught, first woman president of @rcsed.bsky.social for alerting me to this bit of wisdom from Erica Kreismann (LinkedIn). Women- or anyone with a high degree of conscientiousness, I reckon- don't have imposter syndrome, they have an overcorrection problem. And it leads to #burnout.
Women in Healthcare Leadership Don't Have Imposter Syndrome
They have an overcorrection problem.

REFRAME
Doing 3x the work to earn half the credit for a seat already earned.

THE MYTH: What We Call It
"Imposter Syndrome"
> A supposed confidence problem.

THE TRUTH: What It Actually Is
Overcorrection
> A rational response to constant scrutiny.

WHAT OVERCORRECTION LOOKS LIKE:
Overpreparing for meetings you could lead in your sleep
Overdelivering where "good enough' already exceeds expectations
Overfunctioning to pre-empt being questioned
Treating everyday leadership as an audition

WHY IT HAPPENS:
Because in many healthcare environments:
Decisions are second-guessed more aggressively
Women's competence is questioned more often
Authority is tested in ways male peers don't experience

THE COST:
Burnout . Decision fatigue . Chronic exhaustion. Energy spent proving what should be assumed.
The system quietly teaches you that excellence is just the entry fee.

This isn't malignant self-doubt. It's pattern recognition.

THE REFRAME:
The problem isn't confidence, It's energy.
You're not tired because you're not good enough. You're tired because you're performing on repeat.

IN CLOSING:
Your baseline is not an audition. Your seat is not conditional on perfection. You already earned it.

Follow Dr Erica Kreismann for daily posts on authentic leadership

Artist: beth evans
An illustration by Beth Evans titled "UNWANTED MEDICAL ADVICE." The drawing features several simple, round characters (essentially semi-circles with dot eyes and small smiles) paired with handwritten text.

The text throughout the image reads:

I know people are just trying to help

but it can be exhausting hearing how you should be doing everything differently

it also may make you doubt you're doing things right!

one of the hardest things is finding what makes you feel better

and just because you're doing better doesn't mean you won't have bad days

the best way you can help is by listening

because when I want advice, I know I can trust you to help me

In the bottom right corner, the artist's name, beth evans, is written in lowercase.
