There’s a lot of talk about how Meta Glasses, and similar AI smart glasses, can increase independence for blind and partially sighted people. So, it’s over to you: what’s your favourite accessibility feature of Meta Glasses as a blind or partially sighted person?

If you're taking advantage of the end of summer deals and booking a holiday, here's our 5 top tips for making that holiday more accessible! What else would you suggest? ☀️

"5 ways to make your holiday more accessible. Book inclusive activities like audio described theatre, spa experiences, or tactile museum tours. Add a tracker or bright luggage tags to your bags so you can find them easily. Use a travel agency that specialises in holidays for blind and partially sighted people. Book assistance for travel in advance. Let's talk about red flags, and now We're not talking about dating. We're talking about emojis. Emojis are fun, but every emoji is read aloud by screen readers. Too many, or using them within sentences, can make posts much harder to follow. Are your emoji habits are giving green or red flags?

Hydration breaks 🤝 screen breaks Use hydration breaks wisely and give your eyes a break from the screen by looking at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. And of course, hydrate.

It’s hot out there 🫠 here’s our advice for keeping your eyes healthy during this heatwave (and, tbh, all year round).

“Protect your eyes from the sun. 1. Wear sunglasses. Choose a protective style with CE quality mark or British Standard.2. Check glasses have a UV filter. Most prescription glasses come with a built-in clear UV filter. Check with optician. 3. Consider eye shields. Eye shields offer more protection from the sun and are useful for glare. 4. Take care outdoors. Wear sunglasses if you work outdoors or at the beach, fishing, or on holiday. 5. Be safe in the sun.
