Interesting case of AL-amyloidosis, kappa type. IF showed clear kappa restriction(pictured); amyloid A IHC was very strong but mass spec confirmed AL-k amyloid (patient has a k-plasma cell dyscrasia). Never seen so much non-specific AA staining before. Mass spec FTW. #renalpath #pathsky #nephsky

Study screening urine samples from patients with lupus nephritis revealed that urinary calgranulin B, MCP-1, and IGFBP-5 levels could specifically predict the severity of active glomerular lesions, interstitial inflammation, and interstitial fibrosis, respectively In A&R acr.tw/4egRPcI 🩺
Supplementary Figure 1 Representative renal histological findings in cluster 1, 2, and 4. a: Cellular/fibrocellular crescent, b: endocapillary hypercellularity, c: interstitial inflammation, d: interstitial fibrosis. Arrow heads point to each typical example.Figure 1 Cluster analysis with histological score and aptamer-based protein screening.
a: Cluster analysis performed on 20 pathology items according to the correlation between each histological score.
b, c: Extracted urinary protein subgroups with high correlation coefficients for each histological score in clusters 1, 2, and 4 (UG1, UG2, and UG4, respectively).
