I am not very worried about about the Tory Tapestry’s misuse of “doth”. What worries me much more is this sequence of panels which seems to show a small boat full of brown-skinned people followed by a plague of rats running riot and then a lot of dead white people labelled tax payers.
Detail from Conservative Party mock Bayeux Tapestry showing 1. A boat full of brown skinned people. 2. Enormous rats chasing cats. 3. White-skinned “tax payers” dead in the streets.

'We need to tell chefs + vets + architects they must leave, but we would never do that to care workers or bankers' would be a really weird place for this policy to end up: partly because initial proposals were incredibly rushed but could still happen if media/politics/MPs don't get into the details

These enormously complex, badly rushed settlement proposals fell apart during consultation on many fronts yet remain v poorly understood - in media, in parliament, in government itself. There remains a big risk that the Burnham government gets the new policy wrong www.easterneye.biz/andy-burnham...

I think of Sophie and how the men who killed her would be seen as the sort of people Kier Starmer and similar Labour types would now defend as having “legitimate concerns” and Farage would see as the backbone of England
A 20-year-old goth, Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were walking in a park in Васир (2007) when a gang attacked them.
One attacker later said they kicked her head like a football. This case became one of Britain's most horrifying hate crime stories.

Wildfire in Clacton
AS temperatures soared on Friday, Essex fire authorities reported things were so bad that a man's pants had caught fire.
The individual, identified as Nigel Farage, had claimed Essex police had told him to keep away from his by-election declaration.
"We've never seen such an enormous fire coming from a single pair of Union Jack Y-fronts," said a police spokesman. "We urge members of the public to avoid pants on fire by at least coming up with a half-decent excuse for their cowardice."

One more reminder. Yes, Reform are a deeply unserious party, and have no intention or ability to bring their plans into action, but there’s a very serious side to this. It’s about embedding the narrative that disabled people are dishonest, undeserving scroungers. That does need to be opposed.

Well, well, well. Just come across this passage, written in 1842, by Belgian statistician Adolphe Quetelet, published in English as A Treatise on Man and the Development of His Faculties (1842). The real criminal is 'society'. Robert Owen had similar thoughts a little earlier.
Since the crimes which are annually committed seem to be a necessary result
of our social organization, and since the number of them cannot diminish
without the causes which induce them undergoing previous modifi cation, it
is the province of legislators to ascertain these causes, and to remove them as
far as possible. . . . Indeed, experience proves as clearly as possible the truth
of this opinion, which at fi rst may appear paradoxical, viz., that society prepares
crime, and the guilty are only the instruments by which it is executed. Hence
it happens that the unfortunate person who loses his head on the scaffold,
or who ends his life in prison, is in some manner an expiatory victim for
the society. His crime is the result of the circumstances in which he is found
placed.
