It used to be quite normal to pop next door for a coffee or invite friends over for dinner. But not any more. What’s behind this change – and just how damaging is it?

Corporations spend more than $1.5 billion a year on union-busting. That’s $1.5 billion they could have spent on higher wages, better benefits, and improving workplace safety. Remember: if they weren’t so scared of worker power, they wouldn’t fight so hard against unions.

Amazon, awful @doctorow.pluralistic.net pluralistic.net/2026/09/04/c...
Amazon's payola isn't about radio play – it's about search. When you search Amazon, the top results do not represent Amazon's best guess about what product will best match your query: rather, Amazon auctions off those top results to its platform sellers. Amazon's search results reflect who paid the biggest bribe, not who has the best product.

PM Carney responded to Trump’s “Lake America” nonsense with a 400-year history lesson and the word “hydronym.” 😂 FYI: a hydronym is the name of a body of water. Translation: “Donald, the lake had a name before your country even existed. Sit down.” 😭🇨🇦 Lake Ontario - then, now and always. 🍁

There was a global supply glut before the Strait of Hormuz closed. There will be a global supply glut after it re-opens (and it will, eventually). Supply gluts mean low prices. Adding to a supply glut will depress prices further, making these bad investments.

Seriously this fucks me right off because the whole point of these screening programs that everybody is automatically invited to is that if you leave it up to individuals they often won't remember to book appointments regularly enough. This endangers trans people's lives.
What to do if you were assigned male at birth

If you've been taking feminising hormones for longer than 2 years, you can have breast screening. These hormones can increase your chance of getting breast cancer.

If you think you should have breast screening, but you are not invited automatically, talk to your GP surgery or call the local breast screening service to ask for an appointment.
