The sunny side of this delusion is the computer gives you a flying car and makes it so you don't have to work. The blackpill one is that it wipes us out via some cinematic method TBD. Two futures you don't actually have to live in. Both are abdications, and embarrassingly childish on their face.

Sorry, but these people are stupid. It’s a smart-in-a-narrow-area-therefore-I-know-everything type of stupid. Their money, power, and new Pascal’s Wager has many afraid to call them stupid, but this is very stupid. I hereby predict that humanity will exist in 2031. Throw it in my face if I’m wrong.

Axios writer: I melted my brain with AI. Not only can I no longer read, but I don't even understand the purpose of reading anymore. Here's how you can also do this. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...
Axios: AI has become my reading buddy as I've plowed through my summer book list, helping me keep track of plots and characters, unpack themes, and make sense of wordy, old prose.

Why it matters: The way many of us actually read books — a few pages before bed, a chapter at the beach, another on a plane — makes it easy to lose the thread. AI can help you pick it back up without starting over.
📖 I really got into using AI while reading James Fenimore Cooper's "The Last of the Mohicans." The text was far too dense for casual vacation reading. My first prompt asked:

"I'd like a guide as I read The Last of the Mohicans who can help me understand what I've read and where the story is, without giving spoilers or getting ahead of my progress. Can you do this, chapter by chapter?"
The robot agreed: "Cooper's sentences are long and his diction is archaic."

The foundational lie of Trumpism (and I’m using that word precisely to refer to the ideology of intellectual types who defend him), from day one, has been the claim that good character is a “luxury belief” and nothing more than cover for the wealthy to punish the poor. This belief is evil.

So much so, the anonymous finance worker admitted, that his firm now actively avoids seeking out AI-literate STEM graduates, and opts to comb through humanities students instead.

primary every centrist democrat
If Democrats want a role model ahead of this year's midterm elections, they could not do better
than Analilia Mejia, the newest member of Congress. The winner of an April special election to fill a suburban New Jersey seat that party insiders thought would favor a centrist, Mejía, a former political director for Senator Bernie Sanders and the director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance, ran as a progressive who was prepared to take on the "bosses and bullies in both parties to get things done." After emerging as the victor in a crowded and complicated primary—in which she backed Medicare for All, guaranteed paid sick leave, and a moratorium on AI data centers; accurately described Israel's assault on Gaza as a genocide; and declared that "it's time to abolish ICE"—Mejía won the general election by a 20-point margin (more than double the margin that the district gave Kamala Harris in 2024). Mejía embraced her mandate by immediately proposing to raise the federal minimum wage to $25 an hour.

Note everyone: you don’t have to say “of Ohio.” They would actually love it if you didn’t!!
From Miami’s game notes (and it’s been there for long time):

MIAMI UNIVERSITY, PLEASE
When referring to Miami, please use Miami University, Miami University (Ohio) or Miami (Ohio). Please do not use Miami of Ohio, University of Miami of Ohio, etc. The latter are not the proper names for our institution. Also, in 1997, the University began using its new nickname, the RedHawks. It is one word with a capital H. Thank you.
