I mean sure the fans were fun and the team is obviously competitive, but on the other hand a corrupt coach’s son who got his job purely through nepotism would’ve been given more money and cachet he didn’t really earn.

They should institute some system that limits the number of teams lower than an 8 that can come from major conferences. The tourney is so much better with mid majors and tiny schools. The NIT exists for mediocre underperforming major conference teams.
