SWORDS AND ICE MAGIC (1977)
Acrylic on Illustration Board - 24” x 16”

This cover was for the sixth book in a series by Fritz Leiber featuring the beloved characters Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser. 1/4
Through the haze of a mountaintop flurry, Grey Mouser steps with determination toward the camera, rapier angled low, as wind whips his hooded cloak. Bearded Fafhrd with short red-blonde hair, curly and tousled, towers next to him. A bandolier of metal buckles crosses Fafhrd's sleeveless scarlet tunic. His thickly muscled arms are bare to the elements as he boldly stares distantly with his sword angled up at the ready. One fur-cuffed boot is buried in a bank of snow. A mountain peak composed of ghastly faces rises above them highlighted icy white with shadows of soft blue.

He does at least have a legit reason for disliking Spider Man. Or rather people who wear masks. His wife, Joan, was murdered by a masked gunman. His crusade is against people who hide their faces as a way of being able to do whatever they want. So JJJ would be anti-ICE.

#Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery, but the fight for freedom didn't stop there. After emancipation, formerly enslaved Americans built schools, learned to read and write, and pursued higher education. theconversation.com/juneteenth-r... #edusky

Juneteenth reminds us of Black Americans’ long struggle for education following end of slavery
Enslaved people were not just enslaved physically, but mentally as well. as widespread laws in the South barred enslaved people from receiving an education.

Accurate.
Screenshot of a social media post by Angus McIntyre (@angusm@mastodon.social). The post humorously claims that the UK government's plan to teach 10 million British children how to use VPNs could become one of the largest IT education projects ever. It jokes that experts support the scheme because peer education and incentives will help it succeed, and includes a mock quote saying that, with the rise of autocratic governments worldwide, VPN literacy is more important than ever and that the project comes at the right time. The humour derives from the implication that government internet restrictions would encourage widespread VPN use among young people.

Protect The Right to Record
The public has a constitutional right to know what our own government is up to. But right now, federal agents are harassing and intimidating people legally recording them in public. Congress must pass the Right to Record Act.

#Ghoap #Ghostsoap #Art Ghost has a very important PSA (pigeon service announcement)!
Drawing of Ghost as a pigeon on a concrete path, looking disgruntled and holding a piece of paper in his mouth. The paper has a light green background and a drawing of Soap as a pigeon on it (brown with a mohawk). Text on the paper says "Be nice to pigeons" in all capital letters. There is a small note on the paper that says "especially this one!" with an arrow pointing at Soap. Small text above Ghost's head says "*disgruntled coo*".

President of MIT not mincing words today in @statnews.com www.statnews.com/2026/05/27/s...
So let me say it as clearly as I can: Without basic scientific research, supported by the kind of farsighted public investment that allows large-scale, undirected, curiosity-driven inquiry, the scientific pipeline will run dry.
In daily life, people may not feel the effects right away, or even in 10 years. But we will feel it. And when someone we love needs therapies that could have emerged but didn't or when other countries now
investing in science can launch new science-based industries or run their societies on vast resources of fusion energy or reap the benefits of quantum computing power or advanced medical breakthroughs, America will wish it sustained its leadership in scientific research here and now.
Sally Kornbluth is the president of MIT.
