Feedback Survey - DOAS Adaptation for OA Books
Are you a university, library, research institute, or another similar community based publisher or platform working with Diamond OA books? Then we need your input!
The AEGIS-OA (Activate European Guidance and Incentives for Sustainable Open Access publishing) project is an EU-funded project under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. It aims to establish a transparent, sustainable, and high-quality open access scholarly publishing ecosystem in Europe by leveraging and expanding the services of the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH).
OA Books are a very important part of the Diamond publishing landscape and within this anonymous survey, we are seeking community feedback on the adaptation of the Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS)—originally designed for journals—which will now also cover OA books. For those that are not familiar with DOAS, it helps foster quality assurance in Diamond OA publishing, by enabling publishers to assess their compliance with different quality standards. Further information is provided below.

The survey takes up to 80 minutes to complete depending on how many sections you provide feedback on. You can choose which DOAS sections you feel comfortable providing feedback on and that you have the most experience with while skipping the sections you prefer not to provide feedback on. It consists of five different parts and it is fully anonymous. The initial part on the stakeholder type is mandatory and will help us understand the results of the survey from the different perspectives better.
The deadline for providing your feedback through the survey is 18th October 2026, 23.59 CET.
To start the survey, click ‘Next’. Any of the questions that are not mandatory can be skipped, however we would appreciate extensive feedback in order to be able to provide a DOAS adaptation for books that works for the whole community. Do not forget to click ‘Submit’ once you are done.
