Thing is, it’s dubious that this is even “vibes” based anyway. Trump has for a while reversed his position on the TikTok ban. His 2020 action amounted to nothing. The ban comes from a SEPARATE action 4 years later by dems with R support. Dems really did own this, not Trump.

A law banning Rock Band 3 Deluxe has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can't play Rock Band 3 Deluxe right now. We're working to restore our service in the U.S. as soon as possible, and we appreciate your support. Please stay tuned."

The video app that once styled itself a joyful politics-free zone is now bracing for a nationwide ban and pinning its hopes on President-elect Donald Trump.

If there's anything I hope young creatives take from David Lynch, it's to reject the modern IP-driven impulse to explicitly explain and cleanly categorize the logic behind every single event and decision inside and outside of a story at least some of the time.

Laura Palmer will always be the most important piece of David Lynch's legacy to me, because i will always see in her face the faces of women i know and have known who carry her pain with them, and in his kindness to Laura i see the kindness that so many have never received.

Piano roll of “Laura Palmer’s Theme” from Twin Peaks. The visual representation of two mountain peaks in the music was a “cosmic” coincidence which shocked both Lynch and Badalamenti when they discovered it

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

David Lynch will always be one of my greatest inspirations and not just cuz he’s made some of my fav films. for me it was about seeing someone who makes art that is a true and honest reflection of how they’ve chosen to live life - and even how they’ve chosen to die. that’s what i hope for in myself.

RIP to the king

Four panels of David Lynch (older white man with sticky-uppy white hair wearing a rumpled white shirt and dark suit jacket):

1. Serious face. “As soon as you finish a film”

2. Similar serious face “people want you to talk about it”

3. Scrunched-up amused face

4. Slight smile “and it’s, um, the film is the talking”

bob hope understood something a lot of people still can't reconcile: apologizing is actually really easy and you can do it as much as you want

Still, in 1989, in his mid-80s, Hope used the word "fag" on The Tonight Show. GLAAD immediately asked for a statement apologizing for the slur. Instead of telling them to get a sense of humor and calling them snowflakes, Hope shocked them by creating an original PSA for the organization on gay-bashing. Taped at his own expense, he gave it to GLAAD with permission to run it as much as they liked. "It was pretty extraordinary. We can't even get progressive artists to do that," Karin Schwartz, a GLAAD deputy director, said when it was announced.
