This collections week we’re working on records received from the Glamorgan Federation of Women’s Institutes. This scrapbook was compiled by the Mid Vale Group for European Architectural Heritage Year. It contains wonderful photographs and sketches of towns and villages in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Cover of the scrapbook. It is divided into six sections. Each section is embroidered with a symbol representing places in the Mid Vale area, namely Llantrithyd, Maendy, St Hilary, Cowbridge, Llanblethian and Aberthin.A page from the scrapbook relating to Cowbridge. It includes sketch maps showing the town wall as it was at the time the volume was compiled and in the 14th century, along with a photograph of the view from Eastgate showing the varied architecture.
