The Harmonie weather model is now forecasting widespread >40°C in the Netherlands for Friday, likely the warmest day of this heatwave. 🔥 ECMWF slightly less warm. In any case, there will be 4 consecutive days with max temp >35°C in many places, which is bad enough.

Max temps in the Benelux area on Friday, as projected by the HARMONIE model.

South, central and eastern parts of the Netherlands may see temperatures surpassing 40°C, nearing the all-time record from 2019.

It's official, Finland had just its warmest March on record. www.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi/tiedote/2huP... The new record was set with 1.2 °C margin (compared to 2007), which is the largest margin in any of the 21st-century monthly records. March 2026 is the first March with mean temperature > 0.0 °C.
