Hooray! The rain is coming! The weather pattern is shifting this week, bringing rainfall even to the drought-stricken regions of Western and Central Europe. However, it remains unclear how long-lasting this change will be. #Weather #Forecast www.wxcharts.com

#HerbstHitze www.mtwetter.de

Tornadoes are not uncommon in Germany. Tornadoes of IF3 intensity or higher, however, are. The #tornado in #Ohrdruf on August 19 has now been classified as such. In terms of associated wind speeds, it corresponds to an EF4 tornado; however, the IF scale allows for instantaneous 3D winds.

Weather conditions in Central Europe are highly dynamic today. In addition to heavy rain and strong winds, there is also a risk of severe convection as a cold front passes through. Here, too, the focus is on wind, but the risk of tornadoes is also slightly elevated. rawinsonde.com/ASTORP/SPC_h...

Globally, the hottest August in observed history is just about to end. In Western Europe, the summer of 2026 (June, July, August) has been the warmest as well. Compared to this year, 1976 (the famous UK summer) and 2003 (the hottest EU summer so far) look like amateurs in terms of heat (1/2)
