How can this be October, with these blooms still appearing??
A rose bush laden with blooms and beside it another small shrub with red flowers appearing.

The venom in his voice when he said "not nearly long enough" just shows how little he understands about extended deployments and the impact on a ship and ship's company of so little time alongside.

I'd probably say Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn, since they've got to be sequential albums. And that they were the first three makes them extra special. And that they were all solo efforts even more so.

Obviously Reform were let down by a poor candidate in Makerfield, and all they need to do to achieve future success is to be certain only to pick candidates from the overlapping area in this Venn diagram.
A Venn diagram with two regions; one labelled "Not sexist, racist, homophobic, or a clear grifter", and the other labelled, "Wants to stand as a Reform candidate"
There is no overlap between the two regions. However, they are touching. Would the joke be better if they were miles apart? I did contemplate it, but then I thought there will be some people who would fit into the first region but would still be the kind of cunts who'd stand for Reform if they thought it was a route to power and, in the words of Yes, Prime Minister, found people taking them seriously just because they had the letters "MP" after their name.
Then I had the more urgent thought that I was overthinking a joke that would get 4 likes and, with a following wind, a pity RT, so I just left it with the circles touching and then started writing this essay, which hardly seems to be a more valuable use of my time. Anyway, if you've read this far then you're probably my best hope of that pity RT, and God bless you for that.

I'm assuming it's going to be windy around the UK tomorrow, since the unit price of electricity on the Octopus Agile tariff is actually negative from 0500 until 1600! I wish I hadn't charged my car today when it was 8p/kWh, when I could have waited until tomorrow and been paid to do it 🤣
Graph of Octopus Agile rates showing the cost per kWh is below zero from 5am until 4pm.

Right about now (BDST) W/C L.E. Healy, the AAEAF armaments officer, received a call from the Air Ministry reminding him that the 1000 lb bomb had not been cleared for use on the Hawker Typhoon. Healy replied with one of the finest memos of WW2. RCAF Typhoons had dropped 48 of them that morning.
Loose Minute - AIR 37/798 Typhoon Bomber

To: W/Odr. Ops. 7

You may consider the following to be of historical interest:

At 10.30 hrs today, an officer of the Air Ministry, Whitehall, telephoned to state that it was not yet possible for the Air Ministry to "clear" Typhoon aircraft for the carriage of 1,000 lb bombs and that the M.A.P. was being asked to carry out an investigation into the question.

As you are, no doubt, aware, we have for the past two months been fitting 1,000 lb. bomb racks to Typhoon aircraft, and the Typhoon carrying 2 x 1000 lb bombs is our primary weapon against certain tactical targets.

It was suggested to the Air Ministry official concerned that he might like to take the following action:-
(i)Try to stop A.E.A.F. from putting 1,000 lb bombs onto Typhoons.
(ii) Recover any 1,000 lb bombs which may already have been dropped by Typhoons and explain to the recipients that the bombs were dropped in error.
