Deranged take. Half my childhood roadtrips were in a Datsun 210. My kids were hauled around in a Jetta wagon during the prime Big Carseat years, including luggage on trips—usually didn’t even need the roof racks/box, which many smaller vehicles can easily accommodate for extra baggage.
