Well, they scheduled me for an ultrasound today but the VA was like “We do imaging so we won’t cover it, but we don’t know when we’ll be able to get you in. You should just go to the ER. We recommend the VA ER 2 hours away for our convenience.” So now I’m in line at a local ER.

What kind of rules and boundaries did you put in place when your child started driving? Or wish you had. Oldest is about to take his driving test. I was basically without parental supervision as a teen and had no rules or anything. I feel like I don’t know where to start.

If you want to learn about an actual American hero who died on this day, I recommend 1LT Tyler Parten, whom I had the good fortune to know for too short a time. Funny, reliable, kind. He cared about others and his heart had a special place for Afghan children. www.west-point.org/users/usma20...

15yo made dinner tonight. Told dad to plate and one of his siblings to round up the others. Then asked dad to clean up dinner (which he delegated to other teenager). Then as we left to head to his evening activity, 15yo opened my car door for me. @combatcavscout.bsky.social is a great role model.

Love how this dude discovered the cheat codes of "what if I listened to constituents" and "what if I modeled good behavior" and "maybe I behave like a normal person should." These are apparently dark secrets that have been hidden from other politicians.

The rest of your natural life—and then some. That's how long we'll be cleaning up the mess of Trump and MAGAism. The nation as it was before is lost. It won't return. What we seek to save now isn't what used to be. It'll be something else altogether. It'll be what we make it.

I dunno but it should probably be a bigger deal that the White House announced it wants to slap a 100% tariff on drug imports at the same time it is eliminating Medicare drug subsidies. And we’re talking about critical life-saving drugs like insulin, blood thinners, antibiotics, and heart meds.

India supplies approximately 50% of all U.S. generic drugs, and these face the highest tariff
rates:
• Antibiotics: Penicillin, amoxicillin
• Cardiovascular medications: Generic versions of cholesterol drugs, blood thinners
• Diabetes medications: Metformin, insulin analogs
• Pain relievers: Ibuprofen, acetaminophen
2. China-Dependent Active Ingredients
China supplies active ingredients for:
• >95% of ibuprofen and acetaminophen
• ~45% of penicillin
• Many other commonly used medications' base components

As unpopular as the Iran war is, the coverage still doesn't do justice to the fact that they just could have not done any of this. There was literally no reason beyond general bloodthirstiness and incompetence.

Starmer’s resignation is a warning, but we’ve run this experiment at home. Sinema, Golden, and Fetterman made the same bet: that poll-tested moderation is a safe harbor. All saw their support crater. In a moment like this, tacking right isn’t the safe play, it’s the thing that sinks you.

Both totally unnecessary and extremely funny that the Guardian has an interactive graphic for you to change the color of the US flag's blue to the color of the Reflecting Pool from 8 to 19 June and counting

Screenshot of the article's graphic, showing color swatches derived from the Earthcam archive, illustration the color of the reflecting pool calibrated against satellite imagery, from 8 June to 19 June 2026. I chose yesterday, 19 June, so it rendered the US American flag with a green hue instead of blue.
