I would like to believe that a Government serious about the future of AI in Aus would value the inclusion of an MP with a solid understanding of AI tech on a Parliamentary Committee on AI. But then again, the Albanese Government is anything but serious. #AI #AusGov

if Globalise the Intifada is inherently harmful (per ToRs) then this committee recommending that NSW Parliament proscribe Globalise the Intifada has caused harm by its media release, where Globalise the Intifada appears four times.

Committee publishes report on measures to prohibit slogans that incite hatred
A report from the Legislative Assembly Committee on Law and Safety has recommended that the
NSW Government consider legislation to proscribe the phrase 'globalise the intifada', noting that the phrase may be perceived as an incitement of violence against Jewish people.
The report, which was tabled on 30 January 2026, acknowledges that the term 'intifada' has a complex history. However, in the wake of the Bondi attack, and rising antisemitism more broadly, the Committee notes that the threat context has changed.
"We understand that, for many people, the term 'intifada' cannot be separated from its history of violence against Jewish people. Calls to 'globalise the intifada' are understood and experienced as an incitement of this violence on a broader scale," said Committee Chair Edmond Atalla.
"The Committee is of the view that proscribing chants to 'globalise the intifada' would recognise the violent history associated with this phrase, and the way in which it may impact the perceived safety of the Jewish community in NSW. Legislating to proscribe the phrase will put beyond doubt that the chanting of this phrase in public is unacceptable," Mr Atalla added.
The report considers measures taken in other jurisdictions in relation to hate speech, including the existing legislative framework in NSW and in the United Kingdom. While there are existing provisions in the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW), the Committee found that these provisions are limited with respect to the phrase 'globalise the intifada'.
The report makes 5 recommendations in total, including that the NSW Government:
• consider legislation to proscribe the phrase "globalise the intifada"
• monitor developments in relation to hate speech laws in the United Kingdom and at the Commonwealth level
• consider taking steps to reduce the potential for legal challenge of any proposed legislation (for example, by specifically linking the use of the …

to be clear, police actively target Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The passive voice framing of “disproportionate” impacts on Blak children implies happenstance. Kids in wealthy white areas shoplift, and steal cars, and smoke pot and damage property. They are not policed.
