The Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council is telling us that nowhere else in the country are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities amalgamated into a single council and this has created a lot of challenges.

Mr Carl Fourmile says racism not only an individual act but embedded in structural institutions and it effects people in every aspect of their lives, making them feel lesser than. It's causing what used to be called colonial exhaustion and is now termed 'Blak fatigue'.

We are now hearing from Meta at the Racism Inquiry. Online racism has been called out as violent and increasing by many witnesses in this inquiry. Meta pretends it has all the policies and mechanisms to address if but clearly its not working.

Race Discrimination Commissioner Giridharan Sivaraman says that, as a priority, the National Anti Racism Framework needs to be implemented, and that addressing racism against First Peoples needs to come first, or no other forms of racism can be effectively addressed either

People are expressing outrage about how Ben Roberts-Smith was arrested, saying it was too public. He was arrested with no cuffs, not a hand on him, despite facing allegations of war crimes. I can’t help but think of the young Aboriginal boy wrongly arrested at gunpoint by the AFP on a Canberra bus.
