has confirmed that about an hour ago, two ICE agents entered Chang Chang, a restaurant in Dupont, claiming to be serving an I-9 inspection notice.

The agents, both 40-ish men wearing plain clothes and carried a manilla folder and a walkie talkie, were told by the manager they needed a warrant.

Upon hearing this, the agents said they didn't need a warrant and tried to push past the staff to get at the kitchen workers, but staff didn't budge and the manager ran the agents off, insisting they needed a warrant until the agents finally left.

No one was detained.

I joined a neighborhood mutual aid org after the election, best thing I’ve done in years! We run a free store, and the immediate feedback loop of “do X” and “see impact of X” was really missing from my life. Seeing the way so many simple things can help can be its own self-sustaining motivation.
