Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

It really was very predictable that giving free access was about stealing ideas they could slap their own label on and contribute to the conventional wisdom about their financial future
I think the plan is to get researchers to start using their AI with a limited compute budget, then once they have all the academic data, they’ll basically steal all their ideas from underneath them and run the research internally with their unlimited compute budget!

Rain Light
by W.S. Merwin

All day the stars watch from long ago
my mother said I am going now
when you are alone you will be all right
whether or not you know you will know
look at the old house in the dawn rain
all the flowers are forms of water
the sun reminds them through a white cloud
touches the patchwork spread on the hill
the washed colors of the afterlife
that lived there long before you were born
see how they wake without a question
even though the whole world is burning
.
.
.

This poem appeared in The Shadow of Sirius by W.S. Merwin, published by Copper Canyon Press, 2008. Shared here with profound gratitude.

Hilarious and deeply insightful writing by @brianphillips.lol.
Because the truth is, tech doesn't have an image problem. It doesn't have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What's wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn't successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What's wrong is that he's trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that's designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn't that you haven't told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.

BLOOD FOR THE MUMMY A sonnet in amphibrachic tetrameter, also employing the principles of alliterative verse: The two beats in each hemistich (or half-line) alliterate. Thus, in line 1, ‘read’ alliterates with ‘rite’, and ‘form-’ alliterates with ‘frees’.

Thys hath been shared recentlye by several folks on thys syte
A quotation -- Author Kurt Vonnegut on telling his wife he's going out to buy an envelope: "Oh, she says well, you’re not a poor man. You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And, see some great looking babes. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And, and ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don’t know. The moral of the story is, is we’re here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don’t realize, or they don’t care, is we’re dancing animals.”

News: OpenAI Had A Negative 122% Operating Margin In Q1 2026, and ChatGPT Growth Has Stalled

Executive Summary:
The Information reports that OpenAI generated $5.7bn in revenue for the first quarter of 2026 based on discussions with sources familiar with its financials.
With adjusted negative margins of -122%, this means that for every dollar of revenue OpenAI made, it lost an additional $1.22, or around $6.95bn on a non-GAAP basis.
OpenAI is "on track" to hit goal of $30bn in 2026 revenue, but margins suggest losses of over $36.6bn.
OpenAI continues to struggle converting free ChatGPT users to paying customers, and overall user growth has stalled.
