One reason I have seen the same therapist weekly for nearly 9 years is that she often offers me lines of poetry that are beautiful and perfectly apt for the situation. Another reason is that I will never be ok 😀

Humanities got me, a biologist, through a 12-day jail sentence. There are lots of literary and historical protagonists in jail cells to identify with. Also it helps to have some poems memorized for this very situation.

As someone who has witnessed situations like this many many times I feel relieved that other people are seeing these incidents too. I feel like I'm going crazy when I talk about driver aggressiveness and people claim they don't see this behavior on the roads.

I was doing a bike tour of Brugge, Belgium today and it started raining and all I had to do was ask to pause for a minute so I could grab my raincoat out of my backpack and put it on, as did my friend. Others grabbed their umbrellas. Then we just continued the ride. It's really that easy.
