I think the reasoning is justthat they don't want to be outed as the leaker, and also that it's low stakes since (like you said) it's recorded and corroborated.

Localized, or in a set area? How often are emergency vehicles able to easily reroute, or able to pass through the protest? How often do people avoid travel near protests? Counterintuitively, the blockages at the entrances to the congestion zone decrease congestion.

That sounds like it would need its own study to me. A road being blocked is pretty different from a large area having permanent tolls at entries and exits.

Did she say something negative about boomers? Getting a good education for free or low cost (relative to today) is a good thing! It might not be totally accurate to say they gave it to themselves, but they did have to fight against rising tuition while they were in college.

No other industry has ever framed any regulation in terms of "stop", "pause", or "slow down". Those are insane ways to consider any form of policy. Policy should prevent bad outcomes and encourage good ones, it is never about some specific speed.

Is it possible that that progressives were happy about Fetterman beating Dr Oz in 22 despite him beating a progressive (and a moderate) in the primary, and also that Fetterman is clearly a moderate and not a progressive? Given that Fetterman himself has repeatedly said that he's a moderate?

My guess is that's part of it, especially because the data center plumbing is different from regular plumbing, but also so much of the value is in computers that if you're going to tax the water circulating machines you probably want to go ahead and tax the computers themselves too

There's nothing racist about that! The racist part was when you reacted to a minority (Turkish) person you're mad at by telling him to go to a country he isn't from and acted like he's in favor of the things that country's government did.

Discovering a new type of guy
asideoftrashplease
I was once talking to my 75 year old Chinese dad in passing about a trans friend of mine not getting along with her family and he asked why and I said err, because she's trans, dad.
He asked: "Oh, was she the only son or something before *waves hand*?" and I was like, warily, no she has two brothers. And he responded with a great deal of confusion: "Then what's their problem?!?!"
Later on: "Anyway, even if she WAS the only son, that's not her problem, that's THEIR problem.
They should have had more sons if they were going to be bothered about it."

She cleverly didn't say that there's an actual study, just someone who "does a lot of social media analysis". I suspect that means it's an opinion from someone who uses social media all day.

Panel 3:
Person on shore “He was black”

Panel 4:
The sea explodes as a tidal wave of British Journalists erupt into the air, manic and desperate to report on this now vital for some reason piece of news

Three panel comic. Panel 1: an emo teenager is sitting with his family at a table in a casual restaurant. While his parents chat, he looks at another table solemnly. There is a dark aura emanating off him. Panel 2: a similar scene across the restaurant- an emo girl with her family; her little brother is absolutely housing a cheeseburger. She stares back at the guy across the restaurant, while also emitting a dark aura. Panel 3: the two teenagers eyes are locked on each other. In a shared thought bubble, which drowns out all the surrounding ambience, they imagine themselves as anthropomorphic wolves, embracing while they ride a motorcycle down a dark and lonely road through the black of night.

NYT wanted to write a story about "moderate Dems go to war with DSA," looked around, and the best they could find was a *proposal* by Third Way to spend $15M against left candidates. The story is not evidence that *Democrats* and the left hate each other... it's evidence that the NYT hates both.

You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

Yes. It's a common misconception that Dems & Republicans are competing to be as centrist as possible, because voters are centrist. Clearly that's not true, Trump didn't do that and he won. Swing voters are looking for a candidate to convince them.

nihrudge.bsky.social @nihrudge.bsky.social · 14/07/2026
If you ask "are the Democrats too left-wing" people say yes, because that's a standard line in American politics. When you ask if they support left wing policies, like the polls mentioned in the article, they do. That's despite Dems electing moderates.
