Octopus is the easiest thing to cut out of your diet on moral grounds because it’s basically never around, probably has dreams and emotions and tastes like a tire.

Ooh I love Liberty's pre-Christmas! I should make an effort and go there on a random day - I've only done it in recent years when my sister has been visiting.

Yes. We had a couple with vanilla ice cream for pud one evening - delicious contrast of flavours and textures.

I picked chestnuts from my neighbors’ trees and then tried to sell them to my neighbors, including the neighbors from whom I stole. I was six years old. Realizing now this is the same business model as AI.

I have seen every imaginable insult, slur and term of abuse in witness statements in criminal cases over the years, describing the verbals uttered by a drunk defendant. Today, for the first time ever, I encountered a case where a police officer was called "a fucking satchel" and "a dirty biscuit".

Of course when Sir Thomas Knyvett and Edmund Doubleday captured Fawkes beneath the Houses of Parliament he was instantly recognisable due to his very distinct head. Here’s a picture of it:

On this day 1605 Guy Fawkes began his journey to London. It would take him several days because his legs were made of old tights stuffed with newspapers.

A few years ago, I left a bag on the Manchester to London train. Nothing hugely valuable, just clothes/earrings/toiletries - more sentimental value. Rang Lost Property and it had been handed in, not a single thing missing.

My almost-mother-in-law had a fall on the Underground on the way to the airport a few weeks ago, and somehow lost her bag with $500 cash and nearly £4k in jewellery in it. Heard today from TFL it had been handed in, all contents intact. Miracle! Restores your faith in people a little bit!

We're in a tiny flat too. Just a galley kitchen. The hake arrived frozen, we thawed it out in fridge, then gently fried it. It didn't spatter at all. Mind you, we're at top and have skylight in kitchen to open if things do get messy.

We used a gift token for The Fish Society, and had hake - it was delicious. Sautéed in olive oil, with new potatoes and chard, lightly boiled with lemon juice. Lidl vanilla ice cream with couple of their ginger/dark choc biscuits for pud.

Actually, I was thinking the other day, Mick Herron is particularly good at women characters. Have not read Slow Horses, just seen the telly series, but have read the Zoë Boehm series and both seem good on not being gender-biased.
