Alongside @psaepop.bsky.social , EPSA is the best conference I've been to. And that's due to the people, and the people deserve that their fees go back to improving their work. Unlike the last 6 or so years, I'll not be at EPSA, but instead EPSS. Even though I love Prague.

He's right, and it's not just Brazil. Around the world, at least 31 democratic leaders who committed similar crimes have been jailed or banned from office since 2010. The failure to hold Trump accountable in the US was a unique and systemic failure of our institutions and political culture.

New working paper with @erickpadilla.bsky.social - We find that politicians' democratic attitudes and preferences are malleable to electoral losses! - It resembles voters' BUT the interaction between candidate and party-level results (which we theorize) adds interesting nuances (we believe!)

This obsession is with “young men turning to the right” is everything that is wrong with the discussion about the far right. It is not just an inadequate read of what is happening, and a bias towards the male norm, but it also normalizes the far right and obscures support for inclusive politics. 🧵

It's an EU anniversary again - this time, it's #Schengen! Unfortunately, on its 30th birthday, the jubilee doesn't look very healthy. Ten member states (🇩🇪🇧🇬🇸🇮🇮🇹🇦🇹🇳🇱🇳🇴🇩🇰🇫🇷🇸🇪) currently have "temporary border controls" in place, some of them since 2015. And Friedrich Merz now wants to make them permanent.
