Wow. Shocker. Who could have foreseen that the anti-queer right-wingers who openly bragged about using ""just asking questions about fairness/safety in women's sports"" as a wedge to eliminate trans rights... Are using that same wedge to eliminate women's rights. Truly impossible to see it coming.

Discomfort is an essential part of growth and wouldn’t it be so embarrassing to be the exact same person thirty years from now, in a totally different world, because you were so averse to discomfort?

Once you start noticing how the incapacity to handle discomfort affects how people live their lives it's actually pretty shocking how it ruins pretty much every conceivable aspect of existence. Interpersonal relationships, romantic and platonic. Career and education opportunities. Your politics Your willingness to go anywhere. The kind of food you eat. The kind of art you expose yourself to and your ability to read it. It's never just one thing, it touches everything, and once you notice it it's like suddenly being able to see germs or something. Just this horrific catastrophe people look at you askance for screaming about. As I grow older and see what became of my friends and peers who could not learn to handle discomfort, the more I'm like. This is a genuine societal issue

It's a healthcare economy, and the rest of us are just living in it.

Line chart titled "Effectively all of the net job creation has been in healthcare and social assistance, and jobs are shrinking in the rest of the economy" shows change in employment since January 2025. Healthcare and social assistance has added 952,000 jobs through July 2026 with consistent monthly growth, while the rest of the economy has lost 362,000 jobs over the same period, meaning all net job creation has come from a single sector in an unusually unbalanced labor market.

MTG judge posting: I get -why- Paradigm is the way it is in the CR. Design constraints left few other options. And I get -why- Prepare spells rely on "copy THIS, except just the spell, and ignore previous exceptions". But WOW am I a grouchy old grandma who hates the rules philosophy implications.

Hey there @wotcmatt.bsky.social, @wotcjess.bsky.social! It looks like Paradigm's CR entry cites the wrong "for more info, see..." rule. It directs to 707.10, which covers copying spells. But this... Isn't technically doing that? 707.12 seems more accurate, since Paradigm copies the /object/. (1/2)

A 3 by 3 grid of video games cover arts. The titles are In Stars and Time, Life is Strange: True Colors, Citizen Sleeper, In Other Waters, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, Night in the Woods, Halo 3: ODST, Journey, and Portal.

Children are *the* most marginalized group, bar none. They have nearly no rights, and are legally treated as the property of either their parents or the state. So it is so wild to me that people often expect children to be the adults in the room.

Children are PEOPLE, not fucking PROPERTY. Yes, there are obvious caveats: children can't consent to sex and shouldn't be undergoing non-critical surgery, etc. But, fuck... If a child is DYING in public, and the PARENT doesn't consent to a good Samaritan saving their life? That's it. They just die.

Photo of NBC’s exit poll data (from my work laptop, lol) showing Mamdani splitting the straight vote equally with Cuomo, but taking the LGBTQ+ vote by more than 5:1. Even though the LGBTQ+ slice is only 14% of the population, they were a LANDSLIDE in his favor.
