Does anyone under 25 know that before youtube, before social media, there were tv shows where ppl mailed in personal vhs tapes to be the funniest rated and win some money?

Bringing this back bc trend is trending~ My top 3 in order: SH2, Majora’s Mask, HamHam Heartbreak. Came to realize SH2 is my fav bc I’m the most annoying about it, enough to argue with ppl and I hate arguing in general.

I should try streaming gamedev stuff. It’s tedious programming I have to do but maybe it’ll be neat fir others to see what that looks like 🤔

An old manga I really like that has largely been forgotten is Rosario+Vampire, I read it back when it was still ongoing. Yknow how crazy it was for what began as a harem manga to turn into a battle shonen of power couples? I should reread it sometime……

Couldn’t get more than 1/4 into a long video essay covering atlas shrugged, not bc of the youtuber he’s great, but bc I couldn’t hear anymore about a book written by a legit psychopath jfc

I don’t have 9 anime’s that shaped me, I only got 3: Inuyasha, FMA 2003 and Fooly Cooly. istg it’s just the stuff I watched/read/played in 6th-7th grade that altered my brain chemistry irrevocably

I took 2 years at a public uni before scad and I actually majored in business (cursed I know) but there’s 2 concepts that has remained evergreen that everyone (and especially creatives) should learn: Opportunity Cost and Sunk Cost fallacy

An extension of this, I’m careful with how I pitch my stories bc it will affect expectations. It’s why I don’t advertise that UD takes place in essentially a fantasy Cuba, not relevant to the plot and I don’t want ppl thinking it’s supposed to be a token representation of Latin experiences.

I don’t like the gameplay changes in the 3DS releases of oot/mm but they are still the cutest models of the characters in the style of the original concept arts. I would pause playing just to look at how adorable Link is 🥹

One of my fav things a game can do is; Player does something -> something changes + something else gets locked out completely -> no going back Don’t warn me in anyway. Let it be a surprise I find out from replaying or hearing about from ppl. The less the game telegraphs the better.

Ayme @catcoconut.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Is it a recent trend that media with horror elements give away the twist right up top? “This cute benign setting is actually soooo messed up!!” bc I’ve been noticing that more when ppl are pitching their projects. Am I old now and ppl find those pitches better than ones who bury the lede?

There’s this really old SH phone game I like called SH Orphan, made in Java so it’s still playable. The plot isn’t great and neither the gameplay tbh, I just like the concept of a point n click SH game and I think the atmosphere in it works well for what little there is

I’ve needed glasses for 5yrs now but it still feels strange to draw myself wearing them. Take regular breaks from staring at a screen a couple inches away all day, everyday. It WILL worsen your eyesight. Kid me: Glasses look cool to wear *monkey paw activates*

I ditched all Adobe apps at the start of the year bc I finally had it, uninstalled/deleted every possible setting and file I could find buried deep in my comp Tell me why there’s still Adobe shit in here. I can’t find where else it’s hidden and yet my comp is saying Adobe has disk access. 👹💢💢

I rarely watch live action and I don’t like sci-fi or mecha. Everytime I watch something in that ballpark it’s despite that stuff. I watched Terminator 2 once a long time ago bc I heard “the bad guy from the 1st movie becomes the adoptive dad of the little kid.” Just gotta speak my language 🙂‍↕️

Late a.m. thoughts but I’m randomly reminded of how wild the Cuban dialect is to those who haven’t heard it. Basically, Cubans pronounce half of a word really fast all together. Didn’t realize I spoke a dialect until college when another Spanish speaker corrected me over it… so I looked it up

Was telling my hubs how some ppl need to learn to accept IPs they love aren’t the same anymore and let go. Konami HUMBLED me with that lesson. I made peace with the fact that what I love of Silent Hill died with the PS2 and that’s ok. I still got my copies of 1-4, they aren’t going anywhere.
