An unforgettable afternoon at the Dungeness Fishing Boats when at c14:15 I picked up a fabulous BROWN BOOBY feeding amongst a group of Gannets offshore. Panic ensued but the 5 of us got on the bird before MC summoned more eyes from DBO & local birding community. Photos obtained by others… 🌟 Bird !!!

St Ives Island. An ‘all-dayer’. 13 Leach’s Petrel, 2 Cory’s, 3 ESP, 2 Pomarine Skua, 1 Little Auk, 2 Puffin, 3 Little Gull, 8 Sootys & a Snow Bunting with 000’s Kitts, Auks etc. But the highlight was the Loggerhead Turtle off the NCI gully for a few mins. #cornwallbirding Pic thanks to Adam H
This little guy was off The Island on the east side. It drifted off towards the beaches with the incoming tide. Apparently the BMDS were called and if it’s seen again it should be captured for rehabilitation.

Work & family life has been busy recently restricting local birding. But it's been quiet even when out, just 1 each of Wheatear, Common Redstart & Whinchat locally this Autumn; I'd normally expect multiples across the various local sites. A few highlights from last 3 weeks: #kentbirding #ukbirding
A large flock of White Storks was video'd and put on the local wildlife FB page asking for ID. I didn't catch up with those so it was nice when it turned out what must've been 6 of the flock dropped in to the patch. Presumably they had roosted the night before and stayed for a couple of hours before heading off SW. Knepp birds or not, decent to see The only Wheatear on the patch all year!Barn Owl at dawn on one of the local wildlife friendly farms. Those fence lines usually turn up a small number of Whinchat, but not this year (so far anyway)
