Another 2 Honey Buzzards today in great conditions,The first - this striped juvenile which came in over the harbour at 12.30 and continued inland.An unsexed Adult came low and West over the house at 16.30 with Gulls & Peregrine in pursuit was my 10th of the year so far here at the coast.#kentbirding

Some migration along the Dover cliffs in the past couple of days. Highlighted by 5 pied flycatchers and a male Honey Buzzard today, + a juvenile Hen harrier y’day. Good numbers of willows and commoner warblers few whinchat plus a few common waders whilst hirundines increase overhead #kentbirding

Another 2 Honey Buzzards in off the sea at Dover Harbour today. The first day of 'the right winds' since my last 2 came in. The first a lovely male around midday followed by a female 20 mins later, great views of both. #kentbirding #rarebirdsuk

2 Honey Buzzards in off the sea over the Eastern docks, Dover harbour today. A♂️at 12.55 and a♀️at 13.07. Its been a few weeks since the last decent arrival weather, these were my 50th and 51st HBs here at the coast since 2020 and both pretty spectacular arrivals as they go. #rarebirdsuk #kentbirding

1,880 Chaffinches NE from Langdon hole this am, my best morning so far this March (with just over 1k y'day) 200 siskin, 5 Brambling, 10 Greenfinch. Single Black Redstart present & 2 White wagtail in off. A single Swallow y'day is my only trans-saharan migrant so far this spring #kentbirding

A last minute weekend in Tarifa,Sunday saw thousands of Raptors and took an unexpected turn when @beachyheadbirder.bsky.social and I found a Blue-cheeked bee eater.Initially heard calling,then some disbelief but picked up on wires.Thanks @ingloriousbustards.bsky.social ‘s group lending us a scope!

A fantastic morning on the patch, this crippling male Red backed shrike hopped out in front of me on fox hill down, Langdon cliffs. Later whilst watching it with a small crowd, a female Red foot came over low and continued North,picked up by Paul Holt. #kentbirding #ukrarebirds
