I bloody love the last night of the proms. It is so not what you think it is when you're there. It is a multi national multi cultural event with a party atmosphere. It's amazing! Yes they sing the patriotic stuff at the end but that's just like singing Auld Lang Syne at New Year 🇬🇧🇪🇺

Coincidentally, shortly after Diana and also 9/11 I was in hospital and I remember looking round the waiting room and realising these people probably didn't know what had happened. Slightly surreal to be sitting on massive news. Wouldn't happen now of course what with smartphones.
