Spending a lot of the next few days cleaning the house as I have a friend coming to stay next week. I'm doing it now as she has asthma and I need to give it time for the dust to literally settle. And for the cleaning stuff to dissipate. I've done far to little over the past few months and it shows 🤨

Water went off as I was cleaning my teeth about to hit the supermarket. Went, added bottled water to the list to cycle the one we have in storage because this happens now and then. Get home, fill kettle with old water, water comes back on. Classic.

There's an FE college at the bottom of our lane and the new crop of students are in. The first "have all your mates in mum's old car and totally balls up the tight corner so you stuff it into the hedge/tree/ditch day" has arrived early. They were fine but the car will be a write off. #LifeLessons

OH forgot his parents wedding anniversary today & has already had a call at work from his mum complaining he doesn't love her etc. So that's my plans bolloxed as I rush out to get flowers etc, photograph them in our house so he sends it to her with I had planned to come over when I get out of work!

Today's dog walking dress will go in the wash then go to the charity shop as it doesn't allow me to fully stride out when I want to. It's a shame as I like the overall look, but restricting my stomping opportunities has made the decision.

I went to the destinational shopping experience that's also a garden centre and emptied the Guide Dogs floor collection box that's situated inside the children's play area. Sadly I had to give all the notes back as they don't appear to be legal tender. If only.....

Into town to the library then a mooch about. Saw some nice leather boots but need to have a think as spendy. Scored a Fat Face cardi & White Stuff tunic dress in the same charity shop, dropped off a guide dogs collection box to the gym that said they'd have one then back home via the farm for eggs.

The Scottish Government have increased the higher personal care allowance by £16 per month which has reduced the monthly care home fee by .15%. Every Little Helps. I am actually very grateful for the allowance, overall it makes a difference, just illustrating the feeling of a raindrop in the ocean.

After the morning in Berwick on Tweed we decamped to Spittal sands for lunch and enjoyed the sun and sea breeze. Elsie on the other hand was unimpressed

The day's plans cut short with Elsie suddenly developing a limp and not putting weight on one paw by the time we got her back to the van. Local vets lovely, nothing serious and she has form for weak ankles so replenished the Metacam stock and short walks tomorrow which fits our plans.

All the tourist busses go to Melrose Abbey, but I much prefer Dryburgh. It has a peaceful stillness about it set amongst mature trees and by the river, a good place to wander with your thoughts or sit and read.

Went to Trentham Gardens yesterday and treated myself finally to an annual pass so even I'd I've only got half an hour I can still pop in. I managed the lakeside walk plus a bit more,so just over 3 miles, at a good walking pace which is the first time I've felt able in months. Resting today.
