The superb beach at Seacliff, three miles east of North Berwick in East Lothian. This place is also home to a remarkable, tiny, harbour and the almost hidden ruins of a castle, plus amazing views of another. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot... #Scotland #Seacliff #Beach #EastLothian
The beach at Seacliff. The image shows a view along a broad sandy beach that fills the bottom of the frame and curves round to the right, with the blue sea on the right of it. In the background a headland finishes with rocks and an outcrop. There are a few people on the beach and the land rises to the left. The sky is blue.

Seton Collegiate Church in East Lothian, one of Scotland's finest surviving medieval collegiate churches: churches set up with a college of priests whose full-time job it was to pray for the souls of the founder and their family. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot... #Scotland #EastLothian
Seton Collegiate Church in East Lothian. The image shows a honey-coloured stone church. The transepts, tower and choir survive, the latter being on the right. The tower has a truncated stump of a spire on top of it. There are trees on both sides and grass in the foreground. The sky is blue.

A lovely day out in North Berwick, walking up Berwick Law and around Balgone Lake, partly on the John Muir Way. Overcast skies turned to heavy rain after lunch but we had waterproofs, great chat and a good cafe to dry out in. We have regular walks in the Lothians & Fife, non-members welcome!

Musselburgh scrubbing up well in the September sunshine.
A view across a rough grass meadow, past trees, to a church spire set against distant purplish hills. A few figures walking in the meadow, high clouds in a bright blue sky.A shiny metal feather sculpture set on a rock. Scale is difficult to tell from the image, but it is around a foot or 30cm long. The feather curves to reflect a blue sky. Glimpse of scrubby grass and a tarmac path beyond.

Empty Musselburgh pub to reopen as high end restaurant
A former East Lothian pub which has lain empty for more than a decade is set to reopen as a high end restaurant after being bought by its neighbours. The Stand, on Musselburgh High Street, has been bought by the owners of neighbouring restaurant Parrilla. A meeting of East Lothian Licensing Board today heard the new owners had already arranged a meeting with their architects at the building and hoped to begin work after Christmas. The former pub’s premises licence was up for review after board members raised concerns previously that it had not sold alcohol for years.

Hopefully final update. The owner saw our neighbour's Facebook post and got in touch with her and the vet. He's said he'll get a collar for him. He's not far away so we'll probably see more of him, but hopefully the owner will be a bit more responsible after this.
