September's seabird of the month is the manx shearwater! Scotland's breeding manx shearwaters are mainly found on Scotland's Northern & Western Isles, but are best spotted round the coast in spring & autumn flying low over the sea as they migrate✈️ Have you spotted any manx shearwaters recently?

Did you know? Unlike many seabirds that fly over large distances in search of food, little terns tend to feed close to shore, near their breeding colonies. This unfortunately means they are even more vulnerable to disturbance and can suffer from declines in prey in the areas by their colonies.
