Fascinating tour of the conservation studios at National Gallery of Scotland Modern One. The only complaint is that we could have done with more time.

Had an interesting visit to the Forth Marine Hatchery near North Berwick last week with fellow Restoration Forth volunteers. It was great to hear about the work going on to raise lobsters and also oyster spat.

A very breezy morning in Holyrood Park cutting back gorse with the Ranger Service. Would have been nice to have been working in the sunshine but an enjoyable session nevertheless.

Nothing to see here, car drivers moan, politicians buckle. When will we learn?

And yet @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social tore out the perfectly good cycle lane on Silverknowes Road to placate moaning car drivers 😕

It's the hypocrisy of the Lib Dems that gets me. Just think about the cost of this work and yet there's no money to repair/replace the bridge in St Mark's Park!

Sunny morning for my first gorse cutting session of the season with Holyrood Park Ranger Service. We cleared a small area to hopefully give some Rockrose a better chance of doing well.

Didn't make the start of @edcriticalmass.bsky.social yesterday but caught up in time for the stop at Portobello (with ice cream) I wondered if the tourists on the Mile thought we were a fringe show.

Wasn't able to join old university friends for a few beers in Canterbury so after seeing the King's Theatre I made do with a quick visit to Cloisters. Good beer, no screens, no music just a cracking pub.

I'm hoping not all of the Rockrose has been lost so that this beautiful wee butterfly can still breed on the crags. I always enjoy my sessions there cutting gorse or looking for eggs. 🤞 it's not as bad as feared.

Lovely morning for a wade with @wolct.bsky.social along the city bypass to Baberton Loan section of the Water of Leith. Found a large Himalayan Balsam hotspot near the weir which took some time to deal with but was very satisfying 🙂
